Cannes Film Festival 2018

Every year, during the second half of May, the Cannes Film Festival take place. This 71st edition of Cannes Film Festival started last week, on May 8 until May 19.

Founded in 1946 this international film festival rewards and celebrates World cinema every year.

Over the years, it has become the most publicized film festival in the world, especially during the opening ceremony and the climbing of the worlds most strict red carpet and its steps.

With the conversations on feminism on the rise, we looked into the social message the women on the red carpet put out, as well as our key outtakes from the looks.

82 Women

Jury President, Cate Blanchett and director Agnés Varda led 80 other women on the Cannes stairs to demand 'Equal Pay'

"Women are not minority in the world, yet the current state of the industry says otherwise," Blanchett said. "We stand together on these steps today as a symbol of our determination to change and progress."

A unique moment in the history of the Festival, as a 'Symbolic Obstacle', a reflection of the inequalities between women and men.

Flower Power

Embroidered, printed, hidden, large, small, mixed, coloured, plain the flowers represent all women. Their strength and their courage.

Impactful Black

We have a personal favourite look for Xenia Tchoumitcheva, glitters and rock, Ellery couture surprises!

The feather trend is visible on the red carpet on the dresses of Joan Smalls and Penelope Cruz all complimented by sheer fabrics and baroque prints.
