The Met Gala 2018 - Our Favourite Looks

The first Monday in May is one of the most anticipated dates in the fashion calendar. With the Met Gala taking place last night in NYC, team BDA London eagerly awoke this morning ready to start scrolling and examining the looks and we were not disappointed. This year's theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination", which inspired some of our favourite Met looks ever so, we decided to put together a round up of our most loved!

Kayla's Picks
Stella Maxwell wearing Moschino - I adore the lush colour and embellishments of this gown as well as the elegant silhouette.
J-Lo wearing Balmain - Balmain never disappoints in combining edge with ultimate luxury and this gown is the epitome of it. From the sharp shoulders, embellished crucifix and feather train – I am in love.
Kim Kardashian West wearing Versace - This beautiful metallic gown immediately caught my attention – the simple design and extremely great fit shows off Kimmy K’s curves perfectly.

Alice's Picks
Sienna Miller wearing Louis Vuitton - I love the simplicity of this look with the subtle nod to the theme coming from the utterly gorgeous Fred Leighton jewellery.
Amanda Seyfried wearing Prada - Where does the hair stop and the dress begin? Amanda's looking unearthly meeting the theme effortlessly.
Emma Stone wearing Louis Vuitton - It's no surprise that Emma wore Louis Vuitton having recently been named as their newest face. I just love her. And this dress.

Mollie's Picks
Zoe Kravitz Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent - Zoe Kravitz’s barely there lace gown elegantly skimmed her figure and looked like it was made just for her.
Gigi Hadid wearing Versace - Gigi’s butterfly inspired gown followed two of this seasons key catwalk trends, of asymmetry and intricate beading embellishments, with the two features adding an air of pure grace and femininity to her look.
Diana Kruger wearing Prabal Gurung - Diana Kruger’s extravagant flowing train perfectly contrasted with her mini dress and heavily ruched sleeves, with her minimalistic clear heels letting the dress take the spotlight.

Danny's Picks
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing Ralph Lauren - She looks surreal and elegant, the headpiece speaks to the theme whilst the dress gives that fantasy vibe.
Shawn Mendes and Hailey Baldwin wearing Tommy Hilfiger - Super modern version of how millennials are taking to the (red) carpet.
Kate Bosworth wearing Oscar de la Renta -  Amazing detail placed into every element of her outfit. Gold foiling, the pearl headpiece and the layers of tulle gave it such a romantic touch.

Justin's picks
Donal Glover (Childish Gambino) wearing Gucci - Glover’s colour pop feels refreshing, with considered trims finish a tasteful and confident look. Even the white loafers fall naturally into the look.
Travis Scott wearing Alexander Wang and Michael B Jordan wearing Off White - I’m loving the contemporary take on traditional tailoring with a real focus on attention to detail. The hardware on both Scott’s and Jordan’s outfits highlight the importance of dressing up looks with a personalised touch, especially amongst a sea of black suiting.

Hannah R's Picks
Jared Leto wearing Gucci - Jesus has been reborn.
Blake Lively wearing Versace -  I mean wow… She completely owns that dress and crown and somehow makes this overly extra dress look like something she wears every day.
Andrew Garfield wearing Tom Ford: Absolutely love a man in a coloured velvet blazer.

Hannah S' Picks
Janelle Monae wearing Marc Jacobs - In complete contrast to the more popular ornate interpretations, Janelle’s Marc Jacobs look is super clean and a refreshing modern take on the theme.
Cardi B wearing Moschino - Cardi B’s Moschino look was completely on theme, with all-over pearl and crystal embellishments and the historic-inspired silhouette of dress. At six/seven months pregnant she looks like an absolute Queen!
Lily Collins wearing Givenchy - Channelling a darker, romantic style Lily’s Givenchy look was a more gothic and minimalist interpretation on the theme. Her make-up artist Fiona Stiles also created one of the best beauty looks of the Met, with a jewelled smoky eye and vibrant purple lip.
