Pantone Colour of the Year 2017: Greenery

Pantone colour of the year for 2017 has been revealed, and mixed responses have ensued. From smashed avo to Kermit the frog, a growing audience of commentators are sharing their thoughts on the global colour authority’s choice for the year ahead. Hinting at the dominance of the hue during the September fashion weeks earlier this year, here’s Pantone’s official thoughts on Greenery –

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” – Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Offering a fresh burst of colour in both the men’s and women’s collections for SS17, notably at Vivetta and David Hart, we expect the high street to be all over this verdant theme come the end of Winter.
