Top AW18/19 Berlin Trade Show Takeouts

Last week the BDA London team braved the cold in Berlin to see what was going on at across the first AW18 shows for the season. Here are our top 5 takeouts from Bright, Seek, Panorama, Premium and Selvedge Run to help start influencing your range for Autumn this year.


Paired with neutrals and burgundy, teal makes for the perfect warming winter shade. We see this as an ideal colour drop for your wardrobe essentials whilst also making an impact across knitwear and jackets.

Check was found in abundance across men's and women's styles, with the Prince of Wales pattern featuring as the check of choice. An injection of colour, as either a subtle fleck or bright pop ensures this monochrome palette feels refreshed and new.

Once seen as a true heritage fabric, cord is THE go to fabric for the season. Across regular and jumbo wales, cord continues the trend towards surface interest whilst driving muted colours across head to toe outfits.

Statement knitwear featured mixed techniques and bold, sports inspired stripes for the season. Bold block colours help lift a muted wardrobe across essential shapes whilst considered panelling allows for tasteful updates in knit techniques.

Fabric interest and DIY graphics created simple yet effective 1up nuances on traditional court shapes. Offset slogans add a personal tone of voice as we turn to alternatives in what is a very saturated market space.
