Milan Fashion Week Womenswear Spring/Summer 19: Top 5 Takeouts

We've rounded up our top five takeouts from this year's Milan SS19 Womenswear shows.

COLOUR : DARK CHOCOLATE

Carrying on from the winter months, dark chocolate continues to prevail. Head-to-toe looks are the most impactful, favoured across outerwear looks.

FABRIC : PATENT LEATHER

High shine, wet-look leather was a key fabrication introduced to the runways. This will be a key smart-wear piece, best used for trans-seasonal commercial wear.

PATTERN : TIE DYE

Both faded and highly saturated tie dyes were seen across a range of garments. Shapes were generally loose and relaxed, reflecting the overall laid back narrative that tie dye print is known for.

KEY ITEM : FULL COVER JUMPSUIT

This season’s sportswear statement piece with key features including contrast panelling and utility details such as zippers and oversized pockets.

A clear 90's influence filtered through MFW as colour pop mini skirts and dresses were shortened further through ruching. Silhouettes like the shirt dress were softened and had a casual appeal through head-to-toe ruching.
