I'm a Welshman whose been living in London for nearly 7 years now, I'm also a Senior Designer at BDA London. As hard as it is leaving the motherland, London is a place which has everything, any night of the week. I currently live in London Fields so I'm going to focus most of My London around there.

Sadly I seem to find myself shopping more and more online, but if I do have a chance to get out and browse, I find it's definitely a day out experience. So with that in mind I'd recommend Brick Lane. An eclectic mix of one off pieces, designer pop-ups, vintage clothing and some high street brands. Not to mention music, bagels and bars. Its an ever changing space.

Pretty spoilt for choice in Hackney, If I had to highlight two places it would be Mare St Market and Untitled Bar, Dalston. Mare St. Market is a  good mix of cocktails, music and food with the music coming from the record store on site so its always a different mix. Secondly, Untitled bar on the high street in Dalston is a minimalistic dream. A mix of concrete, photography and cocktails in a Japanese inspired surrounding.

Hill & Szrok, is another Broadway Market favourite. Butchers by day and restaurant by night, this quaint establishment makes meat its art! It's definitely not a vegan friendly menu, they also offer advice, recipes and classes for all of your meat needs. Got to mention their custom typeface used for signage and uniforms too!

Rainy Day.

The Institute of Light is a cinema, come record store, come cafe, come restaurant. Located under the arches next to London Fields, Its a pretty diverse space with great character, with events for everyone, including their renowned listening parties!

Hidden Gem.

Head into 'Off Broadway' and keep walking past the bar, down the stairs, past the toilets and you will come to a little speak easy style door with a sliding view finder. Inside is Kansas Smitty's a great little jazz bar with live music 6 nights a week. It's tiny which is great for the sound, but not so great for finding a table.

Enjoy! Rhys
