Paris Fashion Week Couture Spring Summer 19: Top 5 Takeouts

After an exciting week of catwalks in Paris, here are BDA London's Top 5 Takeouts from the Couture Shows!

KEY THEME : SUIT OF ARMOUR

Femininity continues to reign supreme for Couture Fashion Week in Paris. However, an unmistakable tone of resilience and tenacity was delved into through designers exploration of hardware like trims and details.

COLOUR : AQUA

A bright and pure aqua blue was a refreshing new addition to the runways. The invigorating shade of blue provided an energising momentum to the spring summer catwalks.

FABRIC : SATIN TAFFETA

Satin taffeta was a key fabric throughout the majority of the shows. The high-shine fabric created shape and structure throughout the dresses they took form in.

PRINT & PATTERN : FLUID SHAPES

Gentle, fluid shapes took form through different patterns across dresses throughout the shows. Flowing, water like designs gave the impression of a life like structure within the garments.

DETAIL : FRINGING

Statement fringing was incorporated into looks as an extension of the garments across many ensembles in the couture shows. Providing garments with movement and giving the looks an added breath of life.
