Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Spring/Summer 19: Top 5 Takeouts

As Fashion week draws to a close in Paris, take a look at what BDA has pulled as our top 5 takeouts the shows.

Warm chocolate tones from autumn transition into cinnamons for SS19. Pair with crisp summer brights such as whites, or contrast with a sky blue to make the colours pop.

Soft, supple leather was a key fabrication. It had a fitted, body conscious feel, with it’s mid-weight material being perfect for day to night wear.

The paint effect was an exciting new print to be seen in Paris. Each brand interpreted this print trend differently, with Mugler developing a marble paint print, while Balmain takes inspiration from splattered and cracked surfaces.

This season more than ever, swimwear has been growing greater in popularity across shows. The one piece was the most prevalent silhouette. Cut out details and deep cut necklines were key.

The utility trend influence is carried over into SS19, with large, flap utility pockets being a key detail trend throughout the shows. Incorporated into both outerwear smart-wear.
