Resort SS19: Our predictions

With the SS19 Resort shows now underway, here's a peak at what we think we'll be seeing a lot more of as the shows continue over the coming weeks.

We'll be sure to keep you updated both here and on our socials so give us a follow here

COLOUR COMBINATION: RED, WHITE & BLACK

This classic colour combination comes through strongly across the latest resort shows with a key highlight focussing around bold, clean prints such as spots and stripes. Louis Vuitton stands out so far with heavy print clashing creating a tasteful patchwork effect....something we predict will be big for the season ahead.

FABRIC: SATIN

Satins are used for top-to-toe looks bringing a real sense of luxury to the catwalk. Whilst the fabric is still used across traditional silhouettes - formal dresses, pyjama styling, shirting - it is also being adopted for more casual looks like this DSquared2 tracksuit, creating a contemporary update to the sports luxe wardrobe.

PRINT: COLOURED SNAKESKIN

Snakeskin appears as the dominant animal print across resort shows with nuances appearing in blocked and all over patterns. Accessories and apparel are updated with surface interest and modernised colours, adding newness to commercial silhouettes.

MUST HAVE ITEM: CHECK SUIT

From bold plaids to monochrome Prince Of Wales checks, women's suiting is ALL OVER Resort catwalks. Oversized blazers and wide leg pants are key to achieving 'power' looks as designers continue to drive female empowerment on the runway.
