Here's what's got us talking this week...
Jacquemus Le Bleu at Selfridges Corner Shop
Following previous launches in Paris and Milan, Jacquemus has partnered with Selfridges Corner Shop in their latest special project ‘Le Blue’. The space showcases a surrealist reimagination of founder Simon Jacquemus’ own bathroom, exhibiting colourways of the brand’s iconic Chiquito and Bambino bags. The hyperphysical experience offers visitors a sense of discovery and excitement for the all blue ‘Le Splash’ collection, featuring product edits and immersive experiences throughout May.
Gucci to Accept Crypto
Following their recent Gucci Vault Discord server, Gucci is the latest leading luxury brand to tap into the crypto world by accepting crypto currencies. At the end of the month, the brand will accept crypto currency payments in some of its US stores as they go on the journey to expand further. Payments will be made via a QR code sent directly to the customer, whereby they can make a purchase through their crypto wallet. Over 10 crypto currencies will be accepted, including the likes of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Shiba Inu and Dogecoin to name a few.
Nike's Glueless ISPA Link Trainers
Nike has unveiled their latest modular and glueless trainers as a part of their latest ISPA (Improvise Scavenge Protect Adapt) project. The trainers are made of three interlocking parts that are held, or linked, together by tension and can be easily dissembled. By creating a shoe with no glue, you reduce emissions by eliminating energy-intensive processes as well as glue lines – all steps towards a more circular design economy.
Responsible x Ræburn
Following the success of the re-commerce launch with Responsible last year, Ræburn has partnered up with the circular fashion marketplace again, offering customers the opportunity to return pre-loved garments in exchange for store credit. By reimagining the streetwear market, the partnership has provided a framework for shoppers and brands alike to engage in circular fashion.
SZA x Crocs
In light of Mental Health Awareness Month, SZA collaborates with Crocs on a capsule that features the Classic Clog and Classic Slide models. The woodgrain-inspired collection is embellished with golden bolts and bracelet-inspired charms that give a nod to mental health awareness. The duo has also partnered with three people that advocate for Black mental health and positive change in their own community and across the world, donating to three organisations that provide or fund mental health support to individuals in need.
