Cornflower blue was the new, bold colour of the AW19 season across all trade shows. It was most commonly seen as a stand alone shade, but when paired, it sat well with both chocolate and tones of deep plum.
Corduroy has been explored further this season, with chunkier, wider wales being seen across casual wear. Brands also create cord look-a-like knits, being featured predominantly across puffer jackets and hoodies.
Leopard print still reigns supreme in regards to print. Updated for AW19 through bolder colour choices, further print experimentation and also a growing focus on trims.
A key item seen across brands throughout all shows was the check coat. Coming through in an updated, blown out check, with stronger pops of bright accent colours. Rough textures such as mohair and borg were seen to reiterate the winter season.
Sustainability continues to be a growing and key overall theme running throughout shows for AW19. Brands were seen to explore this through visual merchandising techniques and overall messages, demonstrating how they are not afraid to show brand transparency.
