Womenswear SS24 Fashion Week Roundup

As another fashion week season draws to a close, the Trendhub team have collated our key call-outs from the New York, London, Milan and Paris shows. Established and emerging designers showcased their latest collections ahead of the upcoming SS24 season, as always indicating what we can expect to see trickle down into the ready-to-wear market.

London Fashion Week is known for being at the epicentre of all things creative and this season, the city was buzzing with activations for the public to enjoy from the Burberry Bond St takeover to the British Vogue World 2023 production. On the runway, Tove Studio bought sleek and elegant looks while JW Anderson bought us 3D designs made from clay. London’s global dominance as a creative and cultural hub is clear when the city’s emerging designers shine. Take a sneak peek of our key trend highlights including Trailing Tassels, Luxe Satin and XL Florals.

Key Call-Outs from London SS24

TRIMS & DETAILS

Trailing Tassels: In London we saw uptrends in Tassels from medium to ultra-long, cascading all the way to the floor. The fabric was hung gracefully from the hems and necklines of skirts, tops and dresses, and can be seen in beaded or fabric form.

FABRIC DIRECTION

Luxe Satin: The smooth, lustrous surface of luxe satin lends a touch of glamour that was spotted all over the catwalks. The trend takes a fluid and largely minimal approach and can be seen in dresses, tops and bottoms.

PRINT & PATTERN

XL Florals: Bright XL floral colours are seen popping out on dark or light bases, on chiffon and cotton base fabrications. The trend can be applied on tailored pieces as well as evening wear.

The hustle and bustle of fashion week started in New York, where the quiet luxury trend can no longer be kept quiet. Peter Do’s debut at Helmut Lang placed the ’90s cult favourite, as the most anticipated show of the season. While Tory Burch showed voluminous garments to a-list front rows of celebrities to influencers.

Our Key Print and Pattern Call-outs:

PRINT & PATTERN

Impact Blur: In New York we saw uptrends in Impact Blur, where the print is softly unfocused, blending and diffusing hues. Bold, high-contrast colours in a full-length fabric print. Adorning both understated matte textiles and opulent, gleaming silks.

FABRIC DIRECTION

Foil Metallics: The metallic trend is still gaining momentum as we continue to see the fabric all over the runways. Shiny foil-like metallic fabrics have ultra shiny coatings, and can sometimes appear crinkled and creased.

TRIMS & DETAILS

Light Feathers: Ultra-light feathers are used as decorative trims on many outfits. The trend has been seen across casual separates as well as more formal pieces. Used in sections asymmetrically or across the whole garment.

Milan Fashion Week was quite a spectacle, with designers from Prada to Jil Sander showing their collections for the SS24 season, and of course, we can’t forget about the A-lister front rows.

Bottega Veneta gave us a masterclass in texture while the celebration of the 90s at Versace was topped with Claudia Schiffer making her return to the runway. Head below where we give you a look into our key trend highlights from Milan including: Cowl Necks, Buttery Faux Leather and Pyjama Stripes.

TRIMS & DETAILS:

Cowl Neck: At Paris Fashion Week, we observed cowl necks inspired by the 90's trend of plunging and flowing necklines. Translated into a spectrum of styles, everything from slip dresses to tops.

FABRIC DIRECTION

Buttery Faux Leather: This fabric is up-trending, giving a luxurious and polished appeal. It has been seen on the catwalks in a range of colours, allowing for versatility in coordinating with other garments.

PRINT & PATTERN

Pyjama Stripes: Pyjama stripes are widely seen in soft pink or blue tones. Mostly seen in co-ord sets in cotton-base fabrications. Stripes vary in thickness. used vertically down the body.
